HURRICANE KIND OF LOVE

Never mind the lies and broken dreams

Forget about those trivial things

Respect was lost, and lives were tossed

You tore up my world like a Hurricane

(Chorus)

I’m getting it back

What you took from me

Your love was devastating

I lost who I was but now I found

Your wrecked life doesn’t belong to me

Take what you got and wrap it up tight

The hurricane loves hard in the middle of the night

Act like you cared and pretend you know

I drug you along while I put on a show

Thought I needed you more than the earth needs light

I’m growing apart from you tonight

Just so tired of your everything

Slipping away from what could have been

Done thinking life with you will be free from any more pain and suffering

(Chorus)

I’m getting it back

What you took from me

Your love was devastating

I lost who I was but now I found

Your wrecked life doesn’t belong to me

Take what you got and wrap it up tight

The hurricane loves hard in the middle of the night

Take your dying beating heart and put it on blast

Hope for you someone will give you a shout

You tried to change me, I tried to change you

We fought; we struggled to hold some ground

On a foundation of rubble is where we were found

Hearts were bleeding, trust was broke, with the lies we believed

While making this home

(Chorus)

I’m getting it back

What you took from me

Your love was devastating

I lost who I was but now I found

Your wrecked life doesn’t belong to me

Take what you got and wrap it up tight

The hurricane loves hard in the middle of the night

I’m not your lover, you’re not my boy

I’m not your girl, and you’re not my world

Let’s make this easy

Call it what it is

A lie called love fueled by a strong wind…

Very deep words, and yet, so beautiful
